   Add essentials, use packing suggestions where available and edit the result. Include the items you actually use rather than accepting every possible suggestion.

   Check what is ready

   Mark items as packed as you prepare. Give last-minute items, such as a charger or passport, a separate reminder so they are not lost in the rest of the list.

A packing list and a reminder solve different problems

A packing list tells you what belongs in the bag. A reminder tells you when to deal with something that is not ready yet. You may pack clothes the night before, but still need your charging phone until you leave.

Use the trip list for the complete picture and a timed reminder for the final tasks. For anything that must happen before departure, choose a time that leaves enough room to act.

Start small, then make it yours

A useful first list can be as simple as documents, clothing, toiletries, electronics and the things needed for your activities. Remove items you do not need and add the details that make the trip different from your last one.

For a shared trip, decide who is responsible for common items. One person can bring the adapter while another brings the shared charger. The goal is less duplication, not a longer list.
